Ideation: Exploring Storage and Ventilation
Are keyholes a good solution for ventilation? Wondering if they provide enough airflow without making it difficult to retain heat
Should we be exploring two-piece garments that create a full top? A tank top and bolero designed to be worn together or separately
Paneled mesh inserts are the classic solution for airflow without compromising coverage. Does it actually performs best?
Cycling bibs tend to have strap backs for super-low-cut constructions and easy on-and-off. Is that something that could work for running?
Low-cut constructions or zip openings not only make the outfit easier to get on, but also create the fastes way to undress for the bathroom
Cycling outfits have nailed back storage. Not only is easy-access pocketing a priority, but access while in motion is also considered. How do we build back storage that provides easy in-and-out access for runners?
Refining the Design:
Ideation for this season began with line sketches that explored garment proportions on the body, mapping where mesh for airflow and pocketing for storage would make the most sense on a female form.
The marathon bib utilizes a back cutout to increase breathability while doubling as an entry point to drop-in pockets. The shrug focuses on a close, hugged fit through the sleeves for coverage and compression, while above-the-chest pockets provide just enough space for a card, fob, or even AirPods.
